Hey, there!

That desire became part of our family life long before Kind Rooted had a name. We felt God continuing to grow it in us; to serve, to give, to notice people, and to raise our children to do the same. Kind Rooted grew from that foundation. It isn’t simply a project or something we do for content. Over a year ago, we even opened a small local shop called Intentional Living Co. filled with handmade goods, not because retail was the dream, but because we wanted another way to fund the giving, serve our community, and keep saying yes to the needs around us.

At its core, Kind Rooted reflects the way we want to move through the world: with open eyes, willing hands, and hearts ready to respond when an opportunity to help someone appears. And that purpose has blended beautifully with another part of who we are.

We love adventure. We love road trips, hiking, searching for agates, exploring new places, spending time outdoors, and seeing more of God’s creation together. Now we’re bringing those two parts of our family together; traveling with more intention, meeting people along the way, hearing their stories, creating inspiring ways to give back, and looking for opportunities to serve wherever God places us.

We hope our children grow up understanding that kindness is not limited by geography, age, wealth, or circumstance. You can make a difference in your own neighborhood, across the country, or somewhere you’ve never been before. You simply have to be willing to notice. We are still very much in the middle of our own story. We are still healing, learning, growing, and figuring out where this road will lead.

But we know this much: We want to spend our lives loving people well. We want our children to remember a childhood filled with faith, adventure, generosity, and people whose stories changed theirs. And we want Kind Rooted to be a reminder that ordinary families can make a meaningful difference simply by choosing to show up. We want you to be a Kind Rooted Family or person as well!

We’re a homeschooling, faith-driven family of eight who believes deeply in living with purpose, loving people well, and following where God leads. The heart behind Kind Rooted didn’t begin with a business, a social media page, or even the harder seasons of our own lives. It started much earlier. I was raised by loving parents who taught me to notice people, to serve when I could, and to understand that even small acts of kindness matter. Those values became part of who I was long before I knew they would one day become part of something bigger.

"Sometimes God answers a prayer by sending a miracle. Sometimes he sends a person..."

As our own family grew, that foundation only deepened. We’ve spent years navigating disabilities, health struggles, hospital stays, countless appointments, unanswered questions, and seasons when life felt heavier than we knew how to carry. And through so many of those moments, we watched God show up through the hands and hearts of other people. Sometimes it was an answered prayer, sometimes a miracle, sometimes a meal, a thoughtful gift, a phone call, or someone simply stepping in at exactly the right time. Those experiences didn’t create our desire to serve, but they expanded it.

They gave us an even deeper understanding of what it means to be seen, remembered, and cared for when life is hard. They taught us that something that feels small to the giver can mean everything to the person receiving it. Over time, we began asking ourselves a simple question: What if we were willing to give everything, so we could serve others? We said for years that we would do it all for “free” if we could…

We Are Quirky & We Know It!

Bring on tHE cAMPING!

We’re a family that finds joy in the glow of a bonfire, the quiet of camping, and the beauty of being together in nature. Oh, WAIT, who am I kidding?! It is never quiet around here.

We got the moves!

Our favorite moments are often the simplest; like dancing in the kitchen, letting laughter fill the room. And let me tell you something... We have some pretty rad moves!

We are water skiers

We're talking top of the pyramid, waterski show performers! Never did we ever think we'd be a family that performs all summer long. We cannot get enough.

JUST CALL us farmers

We love gardening. If we could live on a large farm we would. For now we love foraging, tending to our garden, and the land we currently are blessed with.

I’m grateful that a heart for service was instilled in me, so I can pass it on to my children. My deepest desire is to help other families discover the joy of weaving kindness and giving into their own lives.

So happy & blessed

by you being here!

I grew up in a family where serving others wasn’t just something we did, it was who we were. My parents taught me that generosity is a way of life, whether it meant giving our time, sharing what little we had, or showing up for someone in need. From an early age, I learned that joy multiplies when you give it away, and that God often works through willing hands and open hearts.

That legacy of service has shaped not only who I am, but who we are as a family today. Giving has always been at the center of our story, and it’s why Intentional Living Co. and Kind Rooted exist—to continue that tradition of love, kindness, and service in a world that desperately needs it.

I’m Kayleigh, with a dream to help families give intentionally.
